Step by Step process of Event Tracking in wpforms using Element Visibility trigger
Step 1: Setup Google Tag Manager for your website. (If not already, please read this article about Google Tag Manager installation). If you are exiting account. Please log in to your GTM Account and select your website container.
Step 2 : We have to create a Trigger for Element Visibility. Click on Trigger and Click on New Trigger option to create a new Trigger
Select Element Visibility option in Trigger configuration and Select ID from Selection Method. Add wpforms-confirmation in Element ID. All other setting will be as per snapshot below. Save the Trigger with name Element Visibility wp forms. You save with any name.
Step 3: Click on Tags and click on New option to create a new tag. Select Google Analytics: GA4 Event from Tag configuration section and add your measurement ID in like “G-QN20YRDTWT” (you can get this ID from your Google Analytics 4). Please see the snapshot
Add an Event name “Form Lead” and select Trigger “Element Visibility wp forms“. Save your Tag with any name you want.
Step 4: publish all the tags which is important to get all the tags live
Step: 5 : Test all your tags via Form Submission and using GTM Preview and Debug Mode
